The Case for Polyaspartic

UV stability. Polyaspartics do not yellow in sunlight the way standard epoxies can, which matters on garage aprons, patios, and anywhere the sun reaches.

The tradeoffs: material cost is meaningfully higher than epoxy, the working time is short (a crew that hesitates wastes product), and the fast cure punishes sloppy prep just as fast.

The Case for Epoxy

Build thickness and depth. Epoxy self-levels into a thick, glass-like build that polyaspartic topcoats alone do not match — it is still the base of choice for metallic floors and for filling rough concrete.

Material cost. Epoxy is cheaper per gallon, which matters on big commercial squares where the material bill dominates.

Working time. Long open time is forgiving for complex decorative work — metallics need it.

The tradeoffs: slow cure means multi-day schedules (and a second trip), standard epoxies can yellow under UV, and cold-weather installs get dicey.
